About Lennon’s W.B. Wilcox Jewelers
In 1945 Harold T. Lennon Sr. opened Lennon’s Jewelers at 4 Lafayette Street in Utica, NY. That corner of Genesee Street, LaFayette Street and Bleeker Street was known as “The Busy Corner.” He was one of the first to offer customers the luxury of air conditioning and had the first full glass door in the city. He advertised it as “The Store with the Glass Door.”
Wilcox Jewelers was originally started in 1802, advertising as "The sign of the golden watch." Eventually moving to 238 Genesee Street and rebranding as W.B. Wilcox, it became a favorite for both jewelry and giftware in the Utica area. In 1992, W.B. Wilcox merged with Lennon's Jewelers to become Lennon's W.B Wilcox Jewelers.
Today, Lennon's W.B. Wilcox Jewelers has one location, located at 4571 Commercial Drive in New Hartford. We are still family owned and operated, currently operating under the leadership of Melissa Lennon. We have an excellent and knowledgeable staff of 17 employees, including 5 members of the Lennon family, along with those with over 30 years of experience.
We offer a wide range of jewelry, specializing in engagement rings, wedding bands, diamond fashion jewelry, and custom repairs. We have a full in-house repair team, complete with 3 on site jewelers.
Here at Lennon's, we know that times may change, but our dedication to the very best in quality, customer care, and service never will. We are thankful for our customers and feel honored to be part of the greater Utica community. Whether you are shopping for an engagement ring, wedding band, anniversary present, or holiday gift- we are here for all the special moments in your life!
